FILM NOIR AT HARRODS
Film making in the 1940's was dominated by 'film noir', a genre of low key lighting in shadowy city streets. These gloomy settings were usually populated by all sorts of shady characters and lost souls. Seamus invited Harrods customers to don an overcoat and hat and step back in time to relive this golden age of movie making. Central casting take note!

HOLLYWOOD PORTRAITS AT HARRODS
This shoot reveals a new breed of femme fatales, leading men, goodies and baddies. With a nod towards 1940’s Hollywood actor’s headshots, Seamus set about this casting in his Harrod’s studio. In this shoot everyone is a budding starlet, just waiting for the call.

WINDSWEPT AT HARRODS
This is the first of six Sunday Shoots Seamus is doing as part of Harrod's 'That's Entertainment' season. The challenge was to create heroes of visitors to the store. It proved to be a simple task as the great and the good lined up with great spirit and seemed to relish their chance in the spotlight. Dramatic lighting, a stormy sky and a wind machine really can bring out the hero in all of us.

THE EXPRESSIONISTS
Due to frustrating technical issues this shoot was very late in starting and therefore over very quickly. The challenge to our visitors was to express six prescribed emotions/mental states. The chosen six were Anger, Envy, Fear, Surprise, Hope and Joy. A journey from darkness to light if you will. Many thanks to all participating facial gymnasts.

JUNE PORTRAITS 2008
While the Glastonbury crowds finally got some sunshine the real talent once more turned up to the Sunday Shoots. This lighting set up is designed to be gently flattering, using soft midtones. This shoot is a test for an upcoming beauty shoot in the Barbican.

SILHOUETTE
Once more we delve into the graphic possibilities of the silhouette. Subjects were asked to bring their own creativity to the project. A task they, once more, undertook with gusto and verve.

EVIDENCE
In this project we asked the public to reveal all that stuff they carry around with them. Handbags were emptied and pockets turned out to give a rare insight into what people just can't leave home without. Participants were responsible for their own arrangement of items. What these images say about their owners is subjective. They do, however, show how dependant on gizmos and gadgets many of us are.

MAY PORTRAITS
This week's simple clean portraits reveal once more what is so special about people who get up early on a Sunday morning. Big up to baby Annie who got through her first 'professional' shoot like a seasoned supermodel. Enjoy!

WINDSWEPT AND INTERESTING
This week we revisit one of the first Sunday Shoot projects. Using only a painted sky, a wind machine, and some dramatic lighting Seamus once more attempts to bring out the hero in everyone. True to form, most people ignored the concept and just had a bit of a laugh.
