TABLE PORTRAITS JAN 2012 I’ve had this table for twenty years. It seems to lend itself to this simple portrait set up. I have a particular fondness for shooting real people in January. It could be the winter clothing or else the fact we are all getting through the bleakest month together. Either way we all had fun.
JANUARY PORTRAITS 2012 I like January. The maelstrom that is Christmas has finally ebbed away. The new year is slowly gathering pace and each day is just a little longer than the last. Any thoughts of a gentle Sunday Shoot to get things rolling were quickly dispelled by a baying crowd of would be subjects. And what fine subjects they were. Happy New Year everybody!
JUMP DECEMBER 2011 Project Jump was the first ever Sunday Shoot project I did and it was fun to return to this action packed theme. As the heated debate about Cameron's veto in Europe rage throughout the country, visitors to Columbia Road Flower Market just wanted to leap about a bit. How refreshing.
WINTER HUG 2011
The annual love fest that is The Hug Project shows no signs of losing momentum despite the gloomy global forecasts. Hugging is somewhat recession proof and really seems to bring out the smiles. So go on,turn off the news and grab your squeeze.
PAPER PORTRAITS - November 2011
A foggy and distinctly chilly morning kept the usual crowds away this Sunday. The brave few that made it took part in an energy filled and vibrant shoot. One roll of Colourama was harmed in the making of this shoot.
THE WOODS
Visitors to the studio this Sunday were transported (in a visual way) to a mini silver birch woodland wherein they gambled about and posed with gusto. Nice to break free of the city once in a while.
MANCHESTER
This shoot was held in Manchester at a showing of the latest Harry Potter movie for an international client. Wonderful people from a great city. Who says it’s grim up north?
BIG GREY
Forget iPads and fancy cameras. All a photographer really needs is an enormous painted grey canvas and some great subjects. I'm happy to report I am lucky enough to have both. Thanks to Haughton Wyatt (www.houghtonwyatt.co.uk) for the ace brushwork.
BRIGHT'N'BREEZY
At last, the sun made an appearance on Columbia Road. I could hardly do a moody shoot after such a gloomy summer. Blue sky, a gentle breeze and some tweaking with the tones and colours seemed to do the trick.
FLOWER PORTRAITS
This collaboration with floral artist extraordinaire Rebecca Law must surely be evidence that I am well and truly in touch with my feminine side. Far fewer men joined in this week. Is romance dead? Come on chaps!
